Stevedoring Contracting Company (GSCCO) was founded
in 1985 with its mission being to provide the highest
quality, most efficient and effective service to the
satisfaction of its clients. After 16 years of steady
growth the company now employs over 5000 personnel of
diverse nationalities and skills backed by a highly
motivated and professional management team. From its
incorporation the company has won a succession of prestigious
port projects throughout the Kingdom against opposition
from larger and longer established rivals demonstrating
its competitiveness and efficiency.

currently operating 3 of the largest port projects in
the Kingdom and is in the process of developing the
Northern Container Terminal in Jeddah Islamic Port.

One of the company's
principal objectives and also one of the main reasons
for its success is and always has been its use of key
personnel in the most effective way possible. This means
utilizing the knowledge and experience of senior management
to the full in their specialist areas but also encouraging
the whole team to contribute to the overall development
of the company and the achievement of its goals in the
most effective and efficient way possible. This inevitably
means that although a manager will have a prime role
in the organization as defined by the organization charts,
he is also encouraged and expected to take an interest
in as many other areas as possible.
As well as this contributing
many innovative and valuable ideas and concepts towards
the development of the company it also has the added
advantage that the role of managers is made more interesting
and challenging and they are able to assume the role
of their colleagues in the event of absence of a colleague
or emergency, giving a coherence of progress and objectives
and a depth of management expertise that is equaled
in very few organizations. As can be seen from the attached
charts the structure has been kept flat and all levels
contribute directly to the success of the company and
the achievement of their departmental objectives. Each
project has been set up to be self sufficient and self-reliant
but uses the head office resources for corporate matters.
